When the Civic Type R FK8 hit the scene in 2017, it kind of left the world a little slack jawed.  Here was a hot hatch with a 2.0L inline 4-cylinder that packed a massive 316 HP punch.  To boot, it would achieve a top speed just shy of 170 MPH and scramble from 0-60 in 5.8 seconds.  Aside from its raw acceleration and speeds, it handled like a slot car.

Top Gear magazine praised its manual as being the best they’d ever tested – in fact, considering the improvements the 2020 gearbox received, they called it “perfection.”  They continued to gush over the monstrous Civic for its other attributes like handling, braking, overall comfort, packaging, and so on.  If you’ve driven one, you get it – if you haven’t, you need to.  It’ll change your life.
